Yohanix Fall/Winter 2017 collection review.

It’s safe to say that YOHAN KIM has an affinity for bridging opposites. Having combined delicate materials with tough, structured looks in his past collections, his Fall 2017 runway proves that this season is no exception. Setting the show’s tone with his opening look––a smokey-eyed HEYNAM SIN (@heynam_sin) decked out in a bomber jacket and silky dress that swept mid-calf––KIM’s collection was an ode to luxe utilitarianism.

Ruffled trim, feathered appliqué and gossamer-like fabric that made for fluid motion breathed new life into boxy outerwear and army-inspired dressing. While the ensembles primarily orbited around olive greens, a wave of khaki coats provided a palate cleanser mid-show. The second half of the collection led up to an unexpected twist, what with floral pinks and purples lending a preppy vibe. The show concluded with a return to stark green, this time with HA HYUNJAE (@hyunjaequeen) sporting an oversized chartreuse jacket lined with a layer of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it tulle down the back.
